SCHOOL DESCRIPTION: Storefront Academy South Bronx is a public charter school which opened to students and families in fall 2015. Located at 609 Jackson Avenue in the Morrisania neighborhood of the South Bronx. SASB educates the urban youth of all learning abilities, and in the 2018-2019 hosts 250 students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Eventually, our goal is to educate students from pre-kindergarten through the eighth grade. Storefront Academy South Bronx’s whole child model demands that equal attention is paid to social and emotional wellness as to academic readiness. We believe that children cannot reach their full potential in the classroom unless their non-academic needs are met. Therefore, our staff will do all they can to ensure students receive the support they need to become confident and emotionally strong individuals.
